In August 2023, the month-on-month consumer price index (CPI) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, increased by 0.3 percent, compared to a flat performance in the previous month.
In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of rural permanent residents in the area increased by 8.2 percent, reducing the number of families with a per capita net income of less than 10,000 yuan ($1,378).
In the first seven months of the year, 33 agreements for new projects were signed in Guian New Area, with a total contract value of 23.5 billion yuan ($3.24 billion), according to a press conference held on Sept 7.
The gross domestic product (GDP) of Guiyang City and Guian New Area in Guizhou province grew 5.7 percent year-on-year to 241.9 billion yuan ($32.92 billion) in the first half of this year, 1.3 percentage points higher than the province's H1 GDP growth.
