Guiyang launches packed summer events

This summer, Guiyang will launch hundreds of cultural, commercial, sports, and tourism activities, inviting guests from home and abroad.

The city will hold more than 20 large-scale concerts and music festivals, alongside over 80 regular roadside concerts. Classic shows such as Colorful Guizhou Style and Guiyang Symphony Orchestra performances will also be staged.

In addition, a host of influential international and national competitions will be held. In June, 25,000 runners will participate in the Guiyang Marathon, a World Athletics Elite Label event, while athletes from 54 countries and regions across the globe will gather here for the World Boxing League World Boxing Cup - China 2026.

In July, the Asian Speed Skating Track Series and the National Roller Skate (Speed Skating) Open will be held, while the UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Championships and the World Climbing Asia Youth Championship Guiyang 2026 will be held in August.

In September, the National Finals of the Guiyang Chengchao Tournament will kick off. The World Climbing Series Guiyang 2026, Asian Mountain Bike Championships, Guiyang Open, China Pickleball Circuit will also be held throughout the month.

Numerous trendy local activities will be upgraded. July is designated as the "Coffee Aroma Month", during which the 2026 World Barista Championship China Barista Championship will take place. August will be the "Craft Beer Rhythm Month", featuring the Master Cup China Beer Grand Prix. A wealth of immersive experiences, including cave underground concerts, mountain yoga, forest meditation, starry sky camping, stream trekking, and drifting, will also be available.

New local tea brands such as Quchashan and Jingcha will launch summer-limited Guiyang-inspired beverages. Key scenic spots, blocks, and core business districts will host themed activities, including a coffee carnival, city-wide laoguo feast, summer craft beer festival, and special sour soup cultural experiences.

The city will also upgrade its extended-stay tourism sector this year, striving to attract no less than 500,000 visitors for extended stays throughout the year.

To offer tourists a pleasant travel experience, a series of exclusive benefits will be launched this summer, including a 20 percent discount policy, multi-day valid tickets, and consumption coupons redeemable with ticket stubs. These benefits cover all groups of visitors and the entire travel journey.

The city will launch a generous preferential package as well. It will join hands with more than 200 enterprises to offer various perks such as exclusive discounts, preferential packages, full-reduction gifts, and special redemptions, with the total benefits exceeding 10 million yuan in value.

It will also partner with ride-hailing platform Didi to issue exclusive taxi coupons worth 4 million yuan for tourists traveling to Guiyang, covering routes connecting airports and high-speed railway stations with major scenic spots, hotels, and business districts, making it easier for visitors to explore the city.

In addition, from July to August, the hours of operation for all Guiyang metro lines will be extended by 30 minutes every day, with the last train departing at 11:30 pm. Multiple metro stations across the city will provide free luggage storage services and convenient rest areas. Guiyang Public Transport Co will optimize some night tourist bus routes and extend the operating hours of certain lines to make nighttime travel more convenient.
