Guizhou Changjiang Automobile Co won two major honors with its self-developed Guizhou electric heavy truck at the 9th China New Energy Commercial Vehicle Industry Conference.
The vehicle received the "Mountain Heavy Truck Sales Breakthrough Award" and the "Mountain Heavy Truck Scene Quality Award", thanks to its rugged performance in mountainous terrain and excellent market reputation, showcasing the manufacturing strength of Guizhou's local new energy heavy trucks.
As a leading local brand deeply rooted in the mountainous region of Southwest China, the Guizhou electric heavy truck is the only commercial vehicle brand named after a provincial name, aside from the Beijing heavy truck.
Designed specifically for the challenging road conditions of Southwest China –characterized by multiple mountain ranges, steep slopes, and dense curves – the vehicle follows a development path of "scenario-based R&D and precise adaptation" to create tailored mountain transport solutions. Compared to traditional diesel heavy trucks, it offers significantly lower operating costs.
The Guizhou heavy truck is specifically designed for heavy-load applications, such as transporting coal, phosphate rock, sand, and gravel. Its operating cost per kilometer is 60 percent lower than that of traditional diesel trucks, and its electricity consumption is 25 percent lower than the industry average. With high cost-effectiveness and reliability, the vehicle has achieved sustained sales growth and now leads the mountain heavy truck market in Southwest China.
To date, the Guizhou heavy truck's market presence has continued to expand beyond Guizhou into Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Chongqing, and Guangdong.
With its outstanding performance and advantages in energy conservation and environmental protection, the vehicle is widely used by industrial, mining, logistics, and transportation enterprises across these provinces and municipalities, providing strong equipment support and a solid foundation for green, low-carbon transport development across multiple industries.
