An opening ceremony for the newly upgraded Wang Yangming Memorial Hall was held on Jan 13 at the China Yangming Culture Park in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The revitalized hall, now open to the public, marks a new phase in the inheritance and promotion of Yangming culture.
The comprehensive renovation focused on three core aspects: content, layout, and presentation.
In terms of content, the exhibition is structured around six thematic sections that not only highlight key intellectual milestones, such as Wang's enlightenment in Longchang, but also introduce a new module on the contemporary value of his contributions to Guizhou's education and culture, as well as the profound influence of local culture on his philosophy.

Regarding spatial design, the memorial hall has expanded its exhibition area by 325 square meters through corridor renovations and functional optimization, creating a more logical and fluid visitor flow. It is estimated that the average visit duration will now extend to 60–90 minutes, significantly enhancing the depth of the visitor experience.
In presentation methods, the hall also actively explores an integrated "digitalization + scenario-based" display model, featuring eight newly designed interactive exhibits, five original artistic installations, and, for the first time, a lifelike digital reconstruction of Wang at 37.
In the future, the hall aims to become an important window showcasing Guizhou's cultural confidence, an academic hub for the study of Yangming philosophy, and a spiritual home that enriches residents' lives.
