Guizhou Plum Blossom Garden opens after expansion

The Guizhou Plum Blossom Garden opened on Jan 24, marking the beginning of the winter plum blossom viewing season in Gui'an New Area.

Thanks to the garden's diverse plum blossom varieties, blooming occurs in stages. Early blossoms are already in full bloom, while mid- and late-season blooms will follow successively. The viewing season is expected to last until early March.

Located in Puma village, Gaofeng town of Gui'an, the garden has been transformed from an ecologically fragile wasteland into a flourishing plum blossom-themed attraction through an innovative model of "ecological restoration + industrial revitalization." It is now one of China's largest and most comprehensive plum blossom gardens in terms of both variety and area.

This year, the garden has expanded by 600 mu (40 hectares), bringing its total area to 1,800 mu. It now features over 270 varieties and more than 50,000 plum trees.

Supporting facilities have also been upgraded, including newly built pedestrian-vehicle separated pathways, standardized public restrooms, and full 5G network coverage, significantly enhancing visitor convenience and comfort.

For transportation, the garden operates shuttle buses and dedicated blossom-viewing bus lines that connect to rail transit stations. Over 4,300 parking spaces are available to accommodate both road trip visitors and those travelling by public transport, ensuring smooth access.

Additionally, the garden and its surroundings offer a variety of dining and entertainment experiences, allowing visitors to enjoy more than just the plum blossoms.
