Guiyang and Gui'an see rapid growth in development zones

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have experienced significant growth in the scale and strength of their development zones, providing strong support for industrial expansion.

Guiyang and Gui’an now host one development zone with an annual industrial output exceeding 50 billion yuan ($7.01 billion) and nine zones exceeding 10 billion yuan. These zones together contribute 92.3 percent of the area's industrial growth, serving as the core drivers of its industrial economy.

Progress has also been made in specialized industrial parks. In September 2024, the Huaxi Surface Treatment Industrial Park – the first of its kind in Guizhou province – officially opened.

It is the largest surface treatment park in the province and the only one with a centralized electroplating treatment center currently in operation. The park provides key supporting services for industries such as aerospace, electronic information manufacturing, and new energy vehicles and batteries.
