Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province is making full use of its two signature attractions – Guizhou Plum Blossom Garden and Gui'an Cherry Blossom Park – to offer visitors a spectacular floral experience.
Gui'an's cherry blossoms are expected to reach full bloom by late March. To celebrate the season, Gui'an will host a women's cherry blossom marathon featuring a scenic 13.14-kilometer route. Roadside concerts will also be held near the Gui'an Cherry Blossom Park, adding a cultural touch to the experience.
Meanwhile, the Guizhou Plum Blossom Garden, which opened on Feb 22, spans 1,200 mu (80 hectares) and boasts 52,000 rare plum trees. The blossoms are expected to last until late March, with the garden hosting nine themed events, including a hanfu flower-viewing festival, a plum blossom cultural appreciation event, guided nature walks, and traditional craft workshops.
Gui'an will also launch specially curated spring outings and suburban tour routes, connecting attractions such as Yunman Lake Scenic Area, Yuelianghu Park, Liuyueliu Folk Street, and key rural tourism destinations.
In addition, Gui'an will introduce special bus routes to the cherry and plum blossom gardens, utilizing the Metro S1 Line and the loop-line of the Guiyang urban express railway to provide more convenient public transportation options.
