Guiyang city and Gui'an New Area plan to train 600,000 people in vocational skills over the next two years.

The initiative aims to boost the quality of training and foster employment opportunities – targeting the creation of 450,000 new urban jobs and the retention of 300,000 college graduates.

The program emphasizes the roles of enterprises, vocational schools, private training institutions, industry authorities and training centers.

Business enterprises will lead by training technicians and senior technicians, aiming to train 150,000 employees through various skill enhancement programs – including a new apprenticeship system – by 2025.

Vocational schools in Guiyang and Gui'an will be designated as training institutions which are eligible for policy subsidies.

These schools will conduct annual training sessions for at least 50 percent of their student population, targeting 100,000 trainees by 2025.

Additionally, private entities are being encouraged to establish vocational schools, with a goal of training 70,000 individuals by 2025.

Moreover, industry authorities will focus on key sectors, developing specific training and certification standards. To top it off, leading companies and organizations will help to include all eligible State-owned and large manufacturers in the self-evaluation framework by 2025.

It's expected that training bases will play a crucial role, with plans to establish high-skilled talent training bases and public training facilities.

As a result, by 2025, Guiyang and Gui'an aim to have eight national and 12 provincial high-skilled talent training bases, along with numerous skill master studios, collectively training 30,000 people.
