The 2024 Guiyang city and Gui'an New Area "Strengthening Talent" press conference was recently held. Officials highlighted the region's success in fostering the youth to contribute to local development.

In the past three years, the scale of China's Far West Program in Guiyang and Gui'an has grown significantly. Last year, the program included 2,361 participants, averaging 10-15 individuals per township, making it the largest in the province. More young people are joining the initiative, contributing to grassroots governance, rural vitalization, and education in Guiyang.

The city is committed to encouraging youth innovation and entrepreneurship. Known as "China's Data Valley," Guiyang aims to develop a youth-friendly city with a focus on digital innovation and entrepreneurship.

The city has introduced policies to attract high-level talents, such as independent salary systems for externally recruited experts and incentives for researchers to engage in entrepreneurship. Last year, Guiyang was approved to establish a national key laboratory, two national-level technology incubation parks, a national "High-Level Talent Introduction Program" base, and four national technology service platforms.

Additionally, two individuals were selected for the "Overseas High-Level Young Talents Program", and 260 individuals were included in provincial talent development plans.

Moving forward, Guiyang plans to prioritize the development of a youth-friendly city, encouraging more young people to settle, contribute, and build a vibrant future in Guiyang.
