Guiyang empowers agriculture with new quality productive forces

Guiyang is revolutionizing its agriculture with innovative machinery from the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone. The recent progress in Longshun county's rice nursery operations exemplifies this new wave of mechanized efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The use of advanced farming equipment has significantly boosted efficiency and reduced costs for farmers. With rice seedling planting machines, the planting rate has soared to 400 trays per hour, a vast improvement from the previous 30 trays per person per day. This advancement has also increased per-mu yields by approximately 50 kilograms, as demonstrated in last year's successful cultivation of nearly 1,000 mu (67 hectares) of rice in Guangshun town.

The success of these agricultural machines, developed and produced in the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, is a testament to Guiyang's adaptability and commitment to modernizing its agricultural sector. This development is crucial given Guiyang's terrain, where 92.5 percent of the area is mountainous or hilly, posing challenges for traditional farming methods.

Guiyang's strategy focuses on three key areas: intelligent industrial transformation, the clustered development of industries, and exemplary leadership in future-oriented sectors. This approach is already yielding results, as evidenced by the successful trial of the world's first hydrogen-powered urban commuter train built by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co. This project also aligns with Guiyang's push towards green energy solutions.
