Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, continues to maintain a stable consumer market.
In June this year, the month-on-month consumer price index (CPI) in Guiyang decreased by 0.2 percent, and its year-on-year CPI decreased by 0.1 percent. From January to June, Guiyang's consumer price index increased by 0.6 percent when compared to the same period last year.
In June, food prices decreased by 0.4 percent month-on-month, non-food prices decreased by 0.2 percent month-on-month, consumer goods prices decreased by 0.2 percent month-on-month, and service prices decreased by 0.2 percent month-on-month.
In June, the month-on-month decrease in CPI in Guiyang was the same as the national average (0.2 percent), ranking 14th among the 36 major cities in the country. It was also the same as the provincial average, and ranked 3rd among the 9 cities and autonomous prefectures in the province.
In terms of year-on-year comparison, in June, the year-on-year decrease in CPI in Guiyang was 0.1 percentage points lower than the national average (at par), ranking 19th among the 36 major cities nationwide. However, it was 0.5 percentage points higher than the provincial average, ranking 1st among the 9 cities and autonomous prefectures in the province.
As its markets continue to stabilize, Guiyang plans to put more focus on its efforts towards high-quality development.
