Guian New Area, a national-level new area in Southwest China's Guizhou province, will connect to the national railway trunk lines after the implementation of the new train operation schedule on July 1.
Passengers can take high-speed trains or bullet trains at the Guian Station to various destinations within the province, such as Bijie, Zunyi, and Anshun, as well as destinations outside the province, including Chongqing, Sichuan, and Yunnan.
The Guian Station, which broke ground in October 2015, is the second largest high-speed railway station in Guizhou province, following Guiyang North Station, in terms of construction scale.
In March 2022, the Guian Station opened to passengers, providing access to 16 intermediate railway stations and strengthening transportation connections between Guian New Area and Guiyang's city center. However, there is currently no direct high-speed train service between Guian and destinations outside of Guiyang.
This July's new train operation schedule will help improve the transportation network in Guian.
According to the opinions on furthering the high-quality development of Guian issued by the Guizhou government, to improve its transportation network, the area will also complete the construction of metro line S1 by the end of 2023 to build a half-hour transportation network between Guiyang and Guian, which will make Guiyang's airport and railway stations accessible within a 30-minute ride.
