Last November, the Guian CEC Optics Valley Digital Industrial Park was established in Guian New Area. China Electronics Optics Valley Union Holding Co and Guian New Area Development and Investment Co are working together to design and build the computing power industry cluster supporting project.
With a total investment of about 30 billion yuan ($4.19 billion) and an area of 1,760 mu (117.33 hectares), the supporting project focuses on computing power infrastructure, computing power service platforms and computing power industry carriers.
It will feature a computing power facility base that serves Guizhou, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, Chengdu and Chongqing and provides a more efficient computing power service guarantee system for various digital application scenarios.
The project is divided into three areas, including a starting area, a developing area and an expansion area. The starting area is expected to begin operating by the end of 2023.
The project's first phrase, covering an area of 218 mu, will have 23 buildings and focus on basic hardware, basic software, application software, information security, and operating systems.
The developing area will feature multiple projects related to the energy industry starting this October, while the expansion area will focus on the construction of a green and zero-carbon comprehensive management and trading platform.
Upon the project's completion, it is expected to gather 20 computing power industrial enterprises generating an annual output value of about 30 billion yuan, which will greatly boost the development of the digital economy in Guiyang and Guian and support the development of new industrialization in the province.
