From January to April, the number of operating entities in Guizhou province has jumped 12.7 percent year-on-year to 4.51 million, according to the Administration for Market Regulation of Guizhou province.
Of those, 1.06 million are enterprises, representing annual growth of 13.62 percent, the agency said.
During the four-month period, the province has added 258,500 newly established entities, marking annual growth of 21.41 percent.
Among them, newly established enterprises were up 43.74 percent to 65,800, while foreign-invested enterprises surged 182.26 percent to 175.
Meanwhile, the number of new farmers' cooperatives and individual industrial and commercial households reached 898 and 191,700, respectively.
Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou, now ranks first in the province in terms of the number of new operating entities, followed by Bijie and Zunyi, while Tongren topped the list for the amount of registered capital by newly established business entities.
