To prepare for Guiyang's approval for a pilot project to build a child-friendly city, officials from Guiyang development and reform commission participated in a training class hosted by the national development and reform commission in Wenzhou from April 25 to 26.
During the two-day training program, officials and experts from the Women and Children Working Commission Office of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, and China National Children's Center explained the concept of building a child-friendly city, the path to realizing more friendly public services, and the monitoring index system of child-friendly cities.
They then put forward the direction and requirements for the next step in building a child-friendly city.
Representatives from Wenzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Baoding, Weiha – six pilot cities in the country – made speeches on work exchanges. Participants in the class also visited pilot schools in Wenzhou.
Next, Guiyang's commission will work on the relevant planning and preparation to ensure the smooth development of turning Guiyang into a child-friendly city.
