Guiyang and Guian New Area, the capital city and a State-level development zone in Southwest China's Guizhou province, have built 40 new book sharing locations to offer residents easier access to high-quality reading materials, local media reported.

Hailed as one of the "10 practical goals" to address people's immediate concerns, the book sharing locations make books and other reading materials more accessible to local residents.

These book sharing locations further promote reading and education among the residents in Guiyang and Guian, while simultaneously meeting the needs and expectations of the communities.

Jointly built by the Guiyang Library and the local government, the book sharing locations were built based on the concept of "sharing plus reading" and "online and offline integration".

Residents can view the "Reading and Sharing Easy Stack" applet to find these book sharing locations, and can borrow or return books by scanning the QR code found at the locations.

With the rapid development of technology, online reading has become more normalized. In addition to physical books, the book sharing locations also have e-book sharing systems, which make it more convenient for citizens to read at any time, greatly improving the convenience of reading.
