With the release of an ecological development implementation plan, Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou Province, and Guian New Area, a district of Guiyang, will proceed to pour all strengths into ecological development in future years, according to local media reports.
To speed up structural adjustment and ecological development of local industries, Guiyang and Guian will promote the upgrading of traditional industries, boost the development of strategic emerging industries such as the new energy battery industry, and strengthen the development and utilization of clean energy.
In addition, Guiyang and Guian will enhance green ecological agriculture. By 2025, both areas aim to reach an agricultural product processing rate of more than 70 percent. In the same time frame, both areas aim to account for 50 percent of the added value of primary output in modern agriculture.
Guiyang and Guian will also give full play to the advantages of their forest resources, promote the service industry's green development, and implement an improvement plan for the digital industry.

In regards to promoting the green development of the local economy and society, Guiyang and Guian plan to develop low-carbon transportation systems and green buildings, as well as promote energy conservation and the use of new energy vehicles. They will accelerate the promotion of a green low-carbon lifestyle, enhance residents' awareness of low-carbon alternatives, and promote carbon peaking.
By 2025, the proportion of local new energy and clean energy buses is planned to reach more than 98 percent, and the proportion of green travel in central urban areas is expected to reach more than 70 percent.
What's more, actions will be carried out to develop ecological civilization and fight against pollution.

Given the details of the implementation plan, by 2025, Guiyang and Guian will have accelerated green transformation and upgraded local industries, promoted carbon peaking and carbon neutrality processes, and made headway in the fight against pollution.
With the plan firmly promoted, by 2035, Guiyang and Guian will have developed its green economy to a high quality. It will have set up a wide range of green production processes, promoted an ecologically-friendly lifestyle, and achieved carbon reduction. Both areas will strive towards the continuous improvement of their ecological environments, and take the lead in realizing socialist modernization within the province.
