Guiyang, Guian to supported by province's peak carbon emission plan

The CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Guizhou Province recently issued the Implementation Plan to Reach Peak Carbon Emissions in Guizhou, which will support the green development of Guiyang and Guian New Area.

The plan promoted green and low-carbon energy transformation and the rational regulation of oil and gas consumption. Guizhou will prioritize the pilot project to provide direct natural gas supply in parks in Guiyang and other regions.

Guizhou will accelerate the construction of new power systems and accelerate the construction of pumped storage power stations in Guiyang and other places during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25). The hydrogen energy industry will be scientifically laid out and the core axis of "Guiyang-Anshun-Liupanshui" hydrogen energy industry will be created.

The province will help Guiyang improve its railway freight yard and build a green and efficient transportation system. It is estimated that the proportion of green travel in Guiyang will reach more than 60 percent by 2025 and more than 70 percent by 2030.

Relying on the joint development of Guizhou Science City and Huaxi University City in Guiyang, the province plans to build a green technology cluster.

In addition, the construction of permanent venues and supporting facilities for the Eco Forum Global Guiyang will be encouraged to hold high-quality events to promote ecology civilization.
