The masson pine trees and Dictyophora rubrovolvata, a type of mushroom, are eye-catching when walking into the demonstration base of State-owned Shuangyong Forest Farm in Guiyang in the early winter.

The area of forest land in Guiyang and Guian New Area has reached 70,200 mu (4,680 hectares), an increase of 63.3 percent from the previous year.

The cultivation of Dictyophora rubrovolvata in the forests has been used as the main product to build eight State-owned demonstration bases in Guiyang and Guian, with a planting area of 7,466 mu.

Guiyang and Guian have adhered to the strategy of "building a city with ecology". They have accelerated the development of the green economy, and have prioritized green low-carbon development.

Dictyophora rubrovalvata has a high medicinal value because it is rich in amino acids, vitamins and various mineral elements.

"The output per mu of Shuangyong demonstration base can reach 450 kilograms, and the output value per mu is about 35,000 yuan ($4,890)," Cheng Zheng, head of Guizhou Zhengcheng Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co, said.

"Since the start of the construction of the base, it has provided us with the opportunity to work around home, with a monthly salary of about 3,000 yuan at ordinary times but a daily salary of more than 200 yuan during the harvest period," a local villager surnamed Wu, who works in the base, said.
