According to a press conference held by the Guizhou Provincial Government Information Office, the provincial government recently issued the Three-Year Action Plan for Increasing Residents' Income in Guizhou Province (2022-2024).
Increasing residents' income is an important measure to promote high-quality development and achieve common prosperity. The plan clearly puts forward the overall requirements for increasing residents' income, namely: taking residents' income as the fundamental criterion for testing the effectiveness of high-quality development; adhering to the orientations of reform and innovation, reflecting efficiency, promoting equity, and working to get rich; increasing wages, operating income, transfer income, and property income for urban and rural residents; and narrowing the income gap between urban and rural residents in Guizhou, as well as the income gap between Guizhou residents and those of the country as a whole.
In addition, from 2022 to 2024, the average annual per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents needs to increase by about 10 percent and 12 percent respectively, and the income ratio of urban and rural residents should drop to about 2.8.
The plan also proposes three major actions to increase the income of farmers and urban residents, and improve the quality of the labor force, with a total of 62 measures.
