Guiyang city and the nearby Guian New Area – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently broke ground on a raft of 46 projects for their new industrialization, new urbanization, agricultural modernization and tourism sector development.
Of these, 14 were industrialization projects worth 4.87 billion yuan ($755.8 million), 28 were urbanization projects worth 3.46 billion yuan and four were agricultural modernization projects worth 188 million yuan.
It's believed that their construction will ensure the completion of the year's economic and social targets for Guiyang and the Guian New Area.
This year, the two have focused on developing these kinds of projects to expand investment and maintain stable growth. A batch of projects with large investments and strong momentum is seen to have provided support for their high-quality economic and social development.
Data showed that Guiyang started 104 such projects with a total investment of 156.34 billion yuan in the first eight months this year. The completed investments during the period reached 31.11 billion yuan, 146 percent of the annual plan. Next, Guiyang and Guian New Area plan to further integrate resources in areas such as land, funding, electricity and labor – depending on the construction progress – to ensure early completion of the projects.
Altogether, 388 Guizhou projects for new industrialization, new urbanization, agricultural modernization and tourism development – valued at 141.1 billion yuan – started recently as part of the province's third-quarter plan.
