The city of Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province achieved much success in digital industrialization development from January to July this year.
Guiyang and Guian have become ideal locations for data centers. During the first seven months of this year, eight data centers were completed or began operating, and 12.14 billion yuan ($1.88 billion) was invested in data centers and related industries.
During the same period, Guiyang and Guian's cloud service enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent, and BaishanCloud earned about 6 billion yuan in business revenue. The added value of the electronic information manufacturing industries above designated size increased by 62 percent year-on-year, and agreements were signed for 17 electronic information manufacturing projects with a contract value of 8.27 billion yuan.
By the end of July, Guiyang and Guian had attracted 71 digital economy giants, including 65 enterprises involved in big data, the data center industrial chain, and internet. They also signed cooperation agreements with major enterprises such as QI-ANXIN Technology Group, iFLYTEK, and Giant Network.
