In recent years, Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made every effort to promote the strategic use of big data. It has also become a national pilot city for industry and finance integration.
The proportion of industrial enterprises above designated size -- those with annual output value of 20 million yuan ($3.05 million) -- that use the internet for management has exceeded 85 percent.
The city has 62 provincial-level big data and industry integration benchmark projects and 608 municipal-level demonstration projects, with both project categories involving a total of 1,054 enterprises.
In 2021, Guiyang will accelerate the promotion of digital transformation and the upgrading of industry. It will also advance the construction of major national industrial internet projects.
Guiyang will take advantage of its position as a national information consumption demonstration city to expand and upgrade information consumption and actively develop new industries and new formats of big data.
In addition, it will promote the in-depth integration of big data with the real economy, rural revitalization, people's livelihood services and social governance, and create 200 typical big data application scenarios.
