Construction of Guiyang Metro Line 3 makes headway

The giant tunnel boring machine (TBM) responsible for the excavation of Guiyang rail transit line 3 -- between Shunhai station and Wenquan Road station -- went to work smoothly and efficiently on the left line of Wenquan Road station on Dec 22, according to local media reports.

The left line of the Shunhai station and Wenquan Road Station is about 2,250.16 meters long.

The geological conditions and surrounding environment of the tunnel are complex.

In order to ensure the smooth launch of the machine, the project department coordinated a range of resources.

It invited experts to optimize and improve the excavation and quickly complete the preparatory work, laying a solid foundation for the smooth launch of the boring device.

The first phase project of Guiyang rail transit line 3 is 43.03 kilometers long. The line runs through the north and south of the city, connecting Huaxi district, Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone and the old urban area.

It is the trunk line for north-south traffic in Guiyang, covering many large residential areas and functional areas and is an important distribution line for passenger flows.

It will play a very important role in improving urban traffic, advancing urban and economic development of Guiyang.
