A research team entrusted by the national leading group to promote the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt investigated the chemical pollution control situation in Southwest China's Guizhou province on Oct 19-21.
The research team visited Guizhou's major chemical companies to learn about the chemical pollution control situation, basic information about chemical companies and industrial parks and risk prevention and control measures for chemical pollution. The team also collected suggestions on chemical pollution control.
Guiyang's development and reform commission joined a meeting with the team on Oct 21 and introduced Guiyang's chemical industrial parks and enterprises, phosphorus chemical companies and phosphogypsum utilization. The commission also discussed measures, issues and suggestions related to enhancing chemical pollution control and the transformation of phosphorus chemical enterprises.
The research team praised Guiyang's achievements in the transformation and pollution management of chemical enterprises and industrial parks. They pointed out that chemical pollution control is essential to environmental protection in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
Related government departments should utilize available funds to help industrial parks control pollution levels and become environmentally friendly.
