The city of Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is planning to establish a major power battery industrial hub centered in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, which will drive the development of the sector in surrounding districts.
Last year, the city established work teams to provide comprehensive coordination of the master plan.
The teams will also provide technical consultations, help attract investment, promote projects and help with supervision – in order to boost the establishment of power battery industry chain in the region.
To date, Guiyang has four power battery manufacturing companies and five related projects are under construction.
Guiyang will focus on lithium-ion powered batteries, as well as production of ferric phosphate, lithium iron phosphate and ternary materials, to complete the layout of the city's power battery industrial chain.
In addition, Guiyang will push hard to optimize its business environment.
It will boost efforts already made in investment promotions, to attract two to five leading power battery companies every year.
